Departure form Hotel Eva | Avenida da República 1, 8000-078 Faro, Portugal
Located inland and well known for its characteristic constructions in red sandstone, Silves is the former capital of the Algarve region, and the current capital of the region’s orange production. Stroll through the streets of this city founded by the Moors and discover its hilltop castle (visit included). The castle provides a great view over the town, but the climb to arrive there is not for the faint of heart! At the top we’ll enjoy a more complete look into the city’s long history and especially its glorious period, between the 8th and the 12th centuries, when it was a cosmopolitan harbour town.
